Thinking about snow

As I was fumbling around the kitchen this morning, eyes not fully open, and trying to make the coffee, I was thinking about snow. Last night my family and I went for a ride to see some Christmas lights. It was so much fun! Something I have wanted to do for years, and we never make the time to do it. Near the end of our ride, I saw a few small snowflakes hit the windshield. I’m not a huge snow lover. It’s not that I don’t like snow per say, I just know that with snow comes ice on the sidewalks, which makes for icy dog walks. I don’t really care too much for that, since we walk our dogs almost every single day. Conversely, a fresh blanket of snow could be one of the most magical happenings of nature. This morning I was hoping for a fresh dusting to make everything a bit more Christmasey. There wasn’t any, sadly, but meanwhile I was thinking about when we do have a fresh, snowy morning and this cozy bear sipping his coffee popped into my head. December is so busy with so many things, that I often don’t sit down to draw solely for myself, but this morning I did.
